political corruption in general

Its amazing how local politics can mirror national politics. we have a local mayor who thinks he is B.O. He is also a self important little man who believes that he answers to noone. Hopefully he will soon be made aware of his misconception. While Obama is riding for a fall, it is my fondest hope that "POPS" will soon be brought to the realization that "The People" will NOT tolerate an overbearing petty tyrant much longer. That hope also extends to Obama!

Things are heating up politically here in south arkansas. We have a local Mayor who believes that his office allows Him to threaten and intimidate citizens who oppose his views and re-election efforts. He is rapidly gaining the knowledge that a lot of us southern folk do not intimidate worth a damn. maybe we can learn things dealing with this problem locally that will enhance our efforts nationally. if that turns out not to be the case, then at least we will have had the experience and gained some self respect from our efforts. Just a Sunday morning musing: the pundits all say that you affect government by beginning at the local level. When local government is corrupt you deal with it by being politically active and defeating the corruption at the ballot box. I submit that corruption through intimidation will attempt to color the elections to benefit themselves and their agendas. While I would not, at this time , advocate violence to overcome threats and coercion, you must stand for what you believe!Jefferson said " when people are afraid of government, that is tyranny, when the government is afraid of the people, that is liberty". SUPPORT AND LONG LIVE LIBERTY.III Rick
